Tongkat ali 1:50 and 1:200 extracts were pioneered by the Medan, Indonesia company Sumatra Pasak Bumi. These products have been on the market for more than 10 years, and have been successful and, most of all, proven safe.

However, recently, some fake 1:50 and 1:200 tongkat ali products have appeared on the market.
As always, there is a wide range of problems associated with fake products, from ineffectiveness to a serious impairment of a consumers health. One may buy a fake watch, and its just a little dishonest. But swallowing fake medicines is outright foolish.
While Sumatra Pasak Bumi also sells wholesale extract which then may be labelled differently, a customer's best protection would be to purchase only products with original Sumatra Pasak Bumi labels.
