Products that are capsules or tablets of root powder, or mix tongkat ali root powder with other substances, are a joke, and potentially even a dangerous one. They are a joke because a standard dosage of tongkat ali root or root powder would be 30 to 50 gram, cooked as tea. If a dealer sells root powder in caps or tabs, then the content of a whole bottle would just make a single dose. That's a joke. It's potentially a dangerous one because unprocessed root or root powder is NOT FIT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. The root grows in soil, and soil is full of bacteria and fungi. Any way you look at it, the root must be sterilized. This could be done by irradiation, or simply by applying enough heat. Boiling root or root powder for 15 minutes will destroy bacteria and fungi. But powder filled in capsules or pressed as tablets is intended to be swallowed as is. Now, has that root powder in capsules been sterilized? It is unlikely that it was sterilized by boiling. The root powder isn't root powder after boiling; it disintegrates. Was it irradiated? Hmm. There are objections against food irradiation. I assume that most Internet offers for tongkat ali root powder in capsules or tablets are not just a joke (which they are anyway) but also a danger to public health.
